I’ve only missed this when I was in Glasgow at college. Still, I made it to their event.
The Aberdeen parade is fab. There are lights suspended over Union Street and as the parade passes under each set, they’re switched on. It is so cool to stand up near Union Terrace or closer to the Castlegate and watch the street light up in the distance.
I’ll be heading into the city early so I can catch the pre-switch on entertainment fun and get a good spot to watch it from.
If you can’t get to Aberdeen to see it, I hope you’ll be able to find it online. Promise, once you’ve seen one, you’ll not want to miss another.
See what I mean about how cool it is? Seeing these brilliant strings of lights suspended over the street come to life as the parade passes under it?
